I recently just started designing and prototyping my new first-person puzzle game, Recapitulation [Working Title].
The intent of this game is to subtly give the audience the experience of what dissociation disorder is through a puzzle gameplay. The game is set in a laboratory-like series of rooms and features a puzzle in each room to move to the next room. The view is in first-person to connect more with the audience. The game idea was originally for VR but can be modified for game controllers. A character will seemingly complete the puzzle before unlocking the door and walking through. The puzzle will then change slightly before the player can complete it.
It's in the early prototyping stages now as I work on a character controller and designing what the puzzles will be and how they're to be solved.
